Viewpoint’s Apps for 2021

During the current pandemic, with swathes of the UK under some form of lockdown or other, it’s more important than ever that children’s voices are heard.

We’ve heard reports of children’s wellbeing plummeting, from the isolation from friends and teachers and other family members they don’t live with, with anxiety rising leading to sharp increases in eating disorders and self-harm.

Our new apps can help address some of these issues, including our newest app – My Mood Diary – to address current mental wellbeing concerns with young people.

Viewpoint myView apps are now available to download from Apple App Store and Google Play Store and provide a range of resources for use by social workers, young people and their carers.

myView apps are configured uniquely for each local authority and for specific groups of young people.

They provide:

  • Different interfaces to help young people share their views, wishes and feelings, with text that can be supported by cartoons and emojis, spoken by avatars and provided in different languages.
  • Access by young people to standard and bespoke self-assessment tools to inform individual plans and reviews.
  • Responses that are displayed in graphical formats to support conversations between young people and their caseworkers.
  • The ability for young people to be provided with easily updated information supporting young people’s right to be kept informed.

My Story App can improve conversations between young people and their caseworkers. It allows young people to save photos and text about significant events and activities in their lives, and enables young people to maintain a diary about recent activities, or to build a life story resource.
